Doxxy’s
A Lang’ata kitchen taking every order by phone, mid-service. We put the menu online so the order arrives written down — with the address, the map and the delivery already priced.
The problem
Orders came in as phone calls. Someone had to stop working to take one, get it right by ear in a loud kitchen, quote a delivery price from memory, and then answer the callback twenty minutes later asking whether the food was coming.
What we built
A branded ordering site with the full menu, including items where the customer picks a flavour or a size. Delivery is priced automatically by estate rather than negotiated, and an address outside the delivery area is refused before the order is placed instead of discovered on the phone. Orders land in a kitchen view with the address and a map pin.
The part that is easy to miss
Prices are validated on the server, not just in the browser. A menu that only exists in the customer’s page is a menu that can be edited by the customer — so the price the kitchen is paid is calculated somewhere the customer cannot reach.
Still running
It has been live and taking orders since launch, and it stays under review — the same standard we hold our own products to.
