A manga and comics business with real customers and real stock, moving from selling in person to selling online without losing what made it work offline.
What it is
MangaComicBooksKE sells manga and comics into the East African market. The business existed before the website did — the digital storefront is there to serve an operation that already had readers, inventory and events, not to invent demand from nothing.
What we built
A storefront with its own catalogue and checkout, a coupon and promotions system used to run campaigns at live events, and the operational tooling behind it. The reading and retail sides share one account, so a customer is one person to the business rather than two.
What it taught us
Events are where this audience actually is. A campaign that only exists online underperforms a campaign that starts at a stand and follows the reader home — which changed how we build promotions across everything else we run.
